What a day! I love this little lake. It was my first time here. Started on the west side of the lake and the fish were shallow and on beds. Caught 11 LMB by 11 on grape worms Texas rigged.

Yeah, I went panfishing over there a few weeks ago. Caught about 20-30 nice-sized bluegill. The bass hadn't moved in close yet. Great little lake though. Very little pressure, and no worry about ninja fisherman pressuring the bass all night (unless they have a death wish, lol.)

Very nice looking blue gill. Isn't it nice fishing a lake with no pressure? Makes the bite epic. The LMB aren't huge, but fun to catch nonetheless.

Indeed. There were three of us fishing, and we literally had the entire lake to ourselves on a saturday! Plus those upper ponds are money!

Those are some nice gills. It must be very nice fishing there. I wish I could, but in a way I am glad it's not open to the public. I am from the South where catching fish is easy. Lakes here are too pressured it is true, and it is nice to know that there is a lake as beautiful as Norconian even if I can't fish there.

No it is not public. It is on a government facility.

I have fished it too a couple times and just loved it. Good bass fishing and big BGs. Actually the guy I went with said he was retired Navy, but found out later, that was not the truth. We just drove thru the un-manned gate with the small bass boat like we have done it many times, launched it and fished all day, and no one bothered us. I guess if you have the balls to just drive right in and launch a boat, they figure you are OK... Not saying it's right, but hey, why waste a good fishing spot, and we pay taxes to the U S Government to support the military anyway...

They check your government id and pass at the gate now. No boats allowed now by order of the co. Btw, I wouldn't try and gain unlawful access there. It's a military facility and it is a federal offense.

Skyler....are you using the government id and badge from your new job?

I guess my question might be, why post about the incredible fishing at a spot that is closed to 99% of the folks out there? A streak of meanness maybe or just LAM syndrome...I'm special? Hard to say but I guess if just "anybody" could fish there it would be just like all the other city lakes and the fishing would suck instead of being epic.

Man you are so full of negativity it is amazing! Thought I get a little too serious at times on these websites. Loos'n up dude lifes not all that bad especially if you go fishing regularely. Do you not get to fish enough which is the reason you just come on here to give everybody crap?

Wow that's kinda harsh. Even if that is his intention, what's the problem with it? It's great knowing what's in there. That lake is one of the few perks our military people get. Hey, maybe you can even get to fish it one day if you make a friend who's in the military. Nice report and great job by the way skyler.

Viejo, I actually did not post a report after I fished there. I just commented on this thread and put up a few pics. As for access, if you have a friend who works for the government, they can get you in as a guest. It is not entirely closed access. The main reason the bass fishing is so good is that it is a strictly cnr lake for bass.

It's over there in Norco off the 15 freeway. Right next to that inmate facility. Yes if you have a retired Military I.D, go give it a shot. Good luck!

Sounds like he needs an "active" ID, meaning, either Active Military, Reserve, Active Reserve, NG, retired military, active gov. ID or retired gov. ID. Just because you are a Vet, doesn't mean you have access. I'm a military Vet but because I am no longer Active or Active Reserve, I do not have access. However, my son is going reporting for the Navy in November. You can bet your sweet @$$ I'll be taking him every time he's home on leave.....lmfao
