What can I say other than " The Master's Tournament Series for 2012" is in the books. Today was the final tournament in the qualifing Series and in my opinon it is the most fun tournament. Of course I am talking about none other than the Berkley Cup Tournament. Not only is the cash prizes and the Masters Qualifing Spot on the line but a $500 prize pack from Berkley was also on the line for this years Berkley Cup Champion. No other lake has tournaments like ours. Also to spice things up Irvine Lake teamed with Pure Fishing Chris Marso to have a spotter boat piloted by Marso to pass out free goods to anyone fishing Berkley gear! From what I heard from people on the water people liked this spotter boat idea and it is something we might add to other tournaments!
The weather set up for us perfectly today with the high in the mid 60's and classic prefrontal conditions. Once again a plethora of fish in the 2-3 class made their way to the scales but the giant fish where strangley absent today as the impending storm may have made them pull a dissapering act. One thing was for sure today's winners would come down to who weighed in first! In the end it would take a fish of allmost 4lbs to crack the top 10.

Manuel Romero is going to the Masters! Manuel was the wild card winner that was drawn to the Masters!
Laslty I would once again like to thank all of you for participating in all of our tournaments. This years tournament schedule was extremely fun and tested the skills of all the anglers involved. If it didnt rain one tournament it was windy the next and the tournament after that it would be warm and then the next one had pre-frontal conditions. To all the Masters Qualifiers a huge congratulations goes out to you guys and gals.
On a diffrent note next weekend we have the Lip Ripperz take over challange presented by Lip Ripperz. This event will take place on April 7th and features some huge raffle prizes! One of the raffle prizes is a $1,200 gift certificate to Turners Outdoorsman. I dont know if my boss will let me enter this raffle or not because I could sure use that gift cetificate!
April 14th will be the Westren Outdoor News Trout Opener! This is probably the most popular Trout Fishing event in Southern California and Westren Outdoor News has a huge raflle ontop of the diffrent divisions for all anglers! This is defintley an event to bring the whole family out too. If you are intrested in registering for the Westren Outdoor News Event please contact Ashely Hartman or Bill Egan at Westren Outdoor News. We do still have some boat rentals available for this event so get your reservations in beacuse they are filling up fast!
