S.W.A.T. Round 2!!

After I put up my previous post from Wednesday, SP Dan asked if I wanted to head out to the honey hole this morning. :Smile:
He also informed me that John (Nipple Twister) was also going. :Smile:
I had informed Dan that I had a meeting in Corona at 6:30 a.m. and would play it by ear.
Well, on the way to the meeting, I noticed that traffic was pretty light. I arrived, took a look at what was needed of me and was out by 6:45. :Wink:
I decided to head on down and meet the two of them.
I arrived on the beach at 7:45, I looked down the beach and seen that they both were working their way South. There was also another angler there.
Since they were a good 250 yards ahead of me, I decided to toss my line a few times real quick to see if anything was willing to bite.
On my second cast I got this little fellow;

Sweet, things are looking good already. :Razz:

I know, I know. I need some new waders. I’ve tried everything to stop them from leaking but nothing is working. :mad:

I quickly got it back in the water and started to cast when I noticed the other angler, jitsurfish (Troy), was working his way North.
After a few casts I hear someone let out a lil holler, I look over at Troy and he is hooked up. I KNEW WHAT IT WAS! :Razz:
After he gets it to the beach I see it’s a WSB. He does his thing and before he lets it go he shows it to me. Nice fish around 24-25”. :Applause:
At least I know they are still there!?!
He continues to work the area for another 10 minutes then starts to go around me. I step out of the water and talk to him for a few.

He says he met SP Dan and then calls me by my name, that’s when we introduced ourselves.
He says that was his only fish of the morning and I say, “ Yeah, but it’s a nice one”. We talk shop a few more then he proceeds to fish North of me now.
You probably already guessed it, I moved into his spot to see if I can get me some of that WSB action. :Cool:
It wasn’t 2 minutes when I get a real nice bend in my rod;

It’s a nice WSB and it measures just about 26 1/2”.
Troy came over and let me use his tape and took a few pictures. He says, “ Dang, I guess I shoulda stayed in this spot”.
I just smiled…:Big Grin:
After the release I keep working the same area and after another few minutes…BAMMM!!!

MY FIRST LEGAL WSB OF THE YEAR!!!
It taped out at 29 ½” and I am one happy individual…:Dancing Banana:
Thanks to Troy again, who came from at least 150 yards up the beach to get some shots of me with the fish…:Thumbs Up:
He congratulated me and decided to stay and work the area…:Fishing Hole:
I kept the fish and it will make some great sashimi for our S.W.A.T.
Gathering this Sunday…:Group Hug:
I looked down the beach, to see where Dan and John were, and it seemed they were making there way back North.
I text both of them and asked why they left the honey hole?!?
After another 15 minutes the tide was getting pretty low, I did hook-up with one more but it came unbuttoned…:Rolls Eyes:
When Dan and John were within facial recognition, they each had a big ol smile on their faces, as well as myself…:Big Grin:
We chatted it up a bit, I asked how they were doing and then we started to work the area a little while longer.
It was now around 11:00 and the tide was just too low now. I called it a day and said farewell.
Dan said he was going to do an all day session for the next big WSB and John wasn’t quite sure.
So I headed back to my truck, threw the fish on the tailgate for an accurate measurement and it taped out at just under 30 ½”;

Are those still the White River Eco Clear Waders?
If they are here is a tip. White River is Bass Pro Shops Name brand. I have had two previous pairs spring a leak probably because I'm very hard on them just like you. Take the waders back like I did twice and tell the folks in customer service that you have had them less than a year. Tell them they were a gift and you don't have the receipt.If you still have the box they came in it's better but not necessary. Just act very disapointed with their product and tell them you want a replacement pair.Your a big guy and the customer service people are pretty timid there especially when you walk in with a complaint about their BPS brand stuff. Just call ahead and talk to the footware folks upstairs and customer service and tell them to set another pair aside for you and you will be there for an exchange. Be proactive and don't take any crap......They will take care of you for sure. They won't even inspect the waders before the exchange. Remember...... Your dad...spent over 220.00 for the waders and your not too happy about them leaking....get my drift?

Absolute incredible man! First you get those three a few days before then you go out and get a legal. It's funny how many times people have done island trips and gotten the white stripe while hunting ghosts and you just slay 'em from the beach. Kudos...it ain't mojo, it's karma, for all the great info and help you've dealt out to others...and WELL deserved!

Got a feeling that I've found a new AO with definite possibilities up here. We got salmon opener on April 7th, and usually the bait and WSB are making their entrance.
