East walker 3/16 & 3/17 bad weather but good fishing

Fished the east walker friday and saturday with Rey from stay bent guide service and my girlfriend in hopes of her learning to fly fish. Friday started out with Rey giving my girlfriend and I the run down on what to expect; basically fishing had been good days prior but the storm had kind of changed everything up. We still stayed confident, and it definitely paid off. Rey was able to teach my girlfriend to cast, and have her on fish with in MINUTES. The fish are there, but you really have to work for them. We both had 10-15 fish to hand each day, missed a ton and lost a couple of PIGS each. Most fished ranged from 14-16 inches with multiple 20" toppers. The normal patterns are working, small midges, streamers, attractor patterns, but very little surface action with this cold front. If your new to fly fishing, or new to EW or even a seasoned vet looking to learn a new trick or two I highly recomend giving Rey a call, he treats you like family right off the bat, and makes sure your trip is exactly what YOU want it to be, as well as his prices are more then fair. But thats enough talking, not too many pictures since we were busy catching fish, but enjoy and get up there before the spring/summer crowds set in.
