View Full Version : any good rod repair shops around?

I broke my one of the guides on my G Loomis GL3 while fishing the Marina last week and i dont know of any good rod repair shops around L.A. so if you know of one i would really appreciate it if you can inform me. Thanks.

any tackle shop can do the replacement guide, or send to back to loomis and do the exchange ?

I cant send it back to loomis. The damage isnt covered in the warranty and i dont have to receipt. I suppose i shall have to search for a tackle shop in my area

I took two loomis rods to Takas tackle in Anaheim in the past. If its just the tip guide, they will change it out on the spot for you. I think it only cost a buck or two. Good people there...

Its one of the guides in the middle. Im hoping i can find a shop that'll get it done within a day or 2.

I got a guide fixed at Johnnys Sport Shop in Pasadena, took 5 min and they charged me like $3-4. Give them a call, and ask, I am sure they can handle it for you.

yeah i live in culver city. all of those options are too far for me. i ended up taking it to a shop on lincoln and pico in santa monica. i know that shop has been there for quite sometime...hopefully i'll get it back before this weekend. thank you all for your input.
