Big Bear Thusday 3/15

Woke up at 5 AM last Thursday and decided it would be a good day to try Big Bear. Didn't get on the road until almost 9, and was fishing by 10:00. I was going to shore fish from the west launch ramp, but it was chained off with a sign saying it's an eagle nesting area and is closed to entry until April. Drove back toward the dam and fished the north shore. Tried mini jigs, spinners, and spoons with no hits but they were biting power bait. Caught the 5 in the picture and was on the road home by 12:30. Didn't have a scale but put the 12 oz V8 can in the picture.3399833997

Great day fishing and great catch. Just one thing. How'd you get them all to stand on their noses like that? I can't get mine to do anything but lie there.

It's a special talent I have ...

Actually, I drop down the tailgate of my truck and use it as a table to clean the fish. These are laying on the tailgate, and the truck was parked on a little incline. They were very slimy and were slipping off the tailgate before I could take the picture so I used the fillet board to stop them from sliding.

Great Looking Fish. I gotta say we just got nailed by a couple feet of snow so bring your chains LOL

I didn't realize you guys got that much snow. I was going to go back up there Wednesday or Thursday. Hopefully some of it melts by then!!
