Hey,
Haven't fished in awhile so I got some advice (thanks guys, you know who you are) and decided to do some shore fishing last week. Was supposed to get our boat out, but had some problems with it and didn't want to deal with another headache.
They planted trout a few days earlier, but it seemed like most of the fish were right at the launch ramp where you cannot fish. That kinda sucks. They looked of decent quality though.
With respect to striper fishing, we bait fished but only got one hit. Line broke off at the leader. Threw out a couple of artificials with no hits. Other than that it was a pretty slow day from shore.
I didn't have any problem with the algae bloom so that was a plus. Had a good time though. A bad day of fishing is always better than a good day at work!
The algae seemed to settle down so that's always a plus.
