Went to Corona del Mar today to see what was biting. Got to the end of the jetty for a small calico bass. Nothing after that so we headed down towards the beginning of the jetty. I caught the smallest halibut on an anchovie.
It was a slow day.
What time of the day were you fishing? Were you using artificial or bait. No signs of Mackrel or Bonito?
Planning on fishing there sunday. Let me know. Thanks, sFresh

Caught this 1 among many fish but can't identify it!
Sort of looks like a Smelt but has large long mouth!

That's a Bonefish dude....Gnarly!!!!!
I fished CDM this morning, and did well with the LC's....caught and released over a dozen Halibut ranging between 12"-22".....good morning, left when the beach goers showed.....

I hit up the jetty at CDM today (8/18) from 0630 to 1145. Managed a couple of small bonies and macs on krocs. The best was the two calicos I nailed on LCs: one was 16 1/2 inches (2 3/4 lbs) and a 19 inches (4 lbs). My personal best off the jetty.
Huge amount of bait in the water in the early morning with barracuda, macs, and bonies chasing them. The only issue was a lot of salad in the water. But over all definitely a super day.
