Had to make a trip out yesterday morning I was getting the itch. I haven't made many reports this year just never carried a camera with me but I decided to take my phone out.

The swell was huge with 4-6 ft faces and to make matters a little more unpleasant there was also a shore break. NO salad at all which made it better but I usually wade about 10-20 yds out so i can get as much distant as possible because my lead heads are usually 1/4-1/2 ounce to mirror as much natural movement as possible. That was impossible today so i was fishing the shore breaks mostly.

I fished only for about an hour from 9-10am and it was frustrating to say the least. I always start the day throwing swimbaits and only last resort ill switch to the morf or crack. There was about 3-4 anglers a few hundred yards catching a ton of 4-8" perch with the crack. I got nailed every time i was outside the second breakers but everything was just taking the tail but i could tell there were some nice fish. I lost about 3-4 fish with some nasty hook sets which i am very ashamed of Laughing . I also told myself that I was not leaving until I nailed her on the swimbait and will not switch to crack. I finally got her about 30 min in but could have got a few more if not for my Tee Time at 11:40. I had to rush home give this report and head to the golf course. All in all good to be on the water and will be back for more tomorrow morning for sure

Nice one... and props for not resorting to the crack. I wish I had that kind of will power. Success comes in cans... failure comes in can'ts.

Keep smiling and tight lines.
