Went to fish dixon lakes derby today with a couple buddies and tryed to catch some of those 4500 lbs of fish they put in..I heard like 80 fish died after they put them in,mostly bigger fish died...anyways started off at trout cove, and within the first 20 min i had 2 fish both on appleseed Peewee Baits jig.One of them going 4.5 lbs..so stayed tell the bite shut off which was by 645 and went and weighed the fish in.So went and walked towards the buoy line opposite side of whisker bay..and we slowly picked at the fish again..ended up slowing down at aout 12,so went and checked out trout cove again and there was nothing so went back to our buoy spot..i had a 9+ pounder chase my jig in and it took off,so about and hour later i get bit again and get the fish good,he flew outta the water and peeled line off, after about 10 minutes i got him in..so we immediatly went to the weigh in and this one was around 5.5 pounds..so then went to whisker bay and we caught a few more...any ways we called it a day around 330-400oclock...Very easy limits if you are using the right stuff which was the Peewee baits again..we left and as far as i know my bigger fish was 2nd place and i bumped my 4.5 pounder off the top 3 with that 5.5 pounder..so i think i had the 2nd and 4th biggest fish weighed in today.here are some pics.and if you are wondeering what peewees are they have a site at peeweebaits.com..
