I find that most if not all of the pin bones disolve when you cook the trout.

Looks good, your making me hungry!

Trout sure is a good tasting fish, but hate the bones. Is an average size stocker worth filleting or is it best to cook it whole ?

I just fry or put the whole trout on the BBQ. Meat just flakes off of the bones and it looks like the cartoons of a fish skeleton. Also the skin is like fish chicarones. I can't filet for S%#*& so I always cook them whole.

Cut into 1" -1.5" thick steaks (makes for easier frying), salt, fry to a nice crispy golden brown...mmmmm!

I personally just eat the pin bones. But then again, I'll eat virtually anything. lol

If its not a big enough trout cook it hole not fillet material most of the time I just leave mine whole if I try and fillet I get more broken bones so handle with care and cook thouroghly and the spine should come right out
