Heading up to the sierras for closing weekend and it looks like there`s going to be snow in the higher elevations. Planned on hitting up virginia lakes, lundy and the loop, but need to have a backup plan if it gets snowed out. Have never fished the owens or PVR and wondered what the roads are like to get into these areas. Will be driving a car, so no 4wd and don`t want to get in somewhere and then not be able to get out if it starts pouring rain. Also wondered about lake crowley, is there drive to areas to shore fish now that the marina is closed. Any info will be appreciated.
Thanks Bill

PVR and Owens willl be fine.... There are roads to get to Crowley, however, they are dirt... you can also park off hwy 395 where crooked creek enters Crowley and hike down... keep in mind Crowley and all tributaries have special reg's this time of year

Just to add a little...

The roads in and out of the Upper Owens are dirt too and were pretty slushy when we scouted them out this past weekend. Not really sure if you would want to risk it since you don't have a 4X4. Plus like Fshnlic mentioned, Special regs are in full effect over there right now. These are the regs up there right now to November 15th. Good luck!

UPPER OWENS:
Benton Crossing bridge downstream to Fishing Monument - Completely closed
Fishing monument to Crowley mouth - Artificial lures (Barbless) - Minimum size limit(18" in total length) - limit 2
Benton Crossing Bridge upstream to big springs - Artificial lures (Barbless) - Minimum size limit(18" in total length) - limit 2

CROWLEY LAKE:
Artificial lures (Barbless) - Minimum size limit(18" in total length) - limit 2

Was that on Sunday, if it was, that was me tossing the Casper White Mini Ripperz out there.
