Hi , my name is Newfishsmell - and I'm addicted to Gourmet Food Trucks ! :Big Grin:

Ever since these trucks started showing up at Golf & Stuff in Downey I can't get enough. I've been going at least once a week , sometimes twice :Big Grin: ... So far my drug of choice has been the Asian/mex fusion.

The reason I'm posting is to drum up some business for these guys so they continue to show up in Downey . So if you live in the area and you like good food as much as you do fishing - stop by and check them out on Monday and Wednesday nights.

I Usually stop by on Monday nights after work , see ya out there !

My problem with food trucks is that no matter what venue they show up to, the prices are always way too high. A cheesburger combo for like 9 bucks? Its not fatburger for petes sake.. Other than price I think its pretty awesome..

Maybe someone can explain this to me....

Food trucks have been around LA for DECADES. I remember being 8, running to a food truck to pick up a drink or snack.

So NOW, you have a gimmicky product (fusion of two cultures, for example), a gimmicky wrap around your white food truck, a Twitter account, and suddenly you can charge $5 for a tiny "korean bbq taco?"

My favorite Mariscos joint is a Roach Coach down in San Ysidro(San Diego). Since I moved to the IE I dont get to go as often but I have been visiting this place for years!! Fish Tacos are $1.25 and Shrimp for $2.25 and they are fat!! Plus you get a cup of Siete Mares.. But if you dont get there by at least two they usually run out of food!

I'd like a roach coach that serves bacon explosions, but breaded and fried.
