I arrived at the lake Friday afternoon around 1pm. With it raining on and off all day it kept the early crowd away as I was only the 2nd vehicle in line. Big Daddy's RV/trailer was already in the number 1 spot while he was out on the lake fishing.
After getting set up in the lot I met up with one of my friends that works at the lake. He just got off work and invited me out to go hit the troll with him for awhile. I quickly changed into my rain gear, grabbed a couple rods and my lure box, and met him down at the dock.
We trolled in the rain from 2pm-3:30pm. I ended up getting these 2 hard fighting trout (and missed a few more).

By 4pm I was walking back to the lot. I could see Josh and Matt off in the distance hanging out by my van. Not long after Bobber Boy, porkchop, and friends arrived. Big Daddy left his boat at the courtesy dock for the night and soon returned to the lot too.
Big Daddy got right to work preparing the striper we caught last week for the fish taco's we brought for the potluck. I can't say enough about all the work that went into making these amazing tacos that Big Daddy made. He truely is an amazing cook!

While all that was going on Bobber Boy was also hard at work grilling up his 2 BACONATORS! he brought to the potluck. Here's some pics of the BACONATORS!

Bobber Boy Also brought a couple tri-tips but they went so quick I forgot to take a pick of them. Bobber Boy also makes some amazing food. Thanx John!

By 1am the last of us decided to call it a night and try and get a few hours of sleep. I woke up Saturday morning around 5am and started cleaning everything up from the night before. The pedestrian gate was already open but by the time I was done cleaning everything up and getting my boat ready it was almost time for the main gates to open (6am).
Being 1st in line I got my boat launched right away. I gave Troutdog, Candyman, and his friend a ride to the West Shore. By 6:30am I was on the troll.
Soon after that I shot this photo of yet another beautiful Vine sunrise!

Didn't take long and I had my 1st fish of the day in the boat!

Not long after that one of my rods goes super bendo. As I went to grab it outta the holder my rod shot outta my hand and into the lake. Luckily it was a cheapo combo I won at one of the tourneys last season. What hurt much more was the fact there was probably a decent sized fish at the other end of the line, possibly a DD.
I'd been checking in with Big Daddy and Omar all morning long on the status of breakfast. Luckily we were trolling the same area for the most part so when it was close to that time I was ready to dock with Jo' Momma 2 for breakfast on the water.

While I was trolling along side Jo' Momma 2 my leadcore starts screaming and I landed this fish!

Here's Big Daddy passing me my breakfast as we trolled along side eachother. Pretty cool we each landed a fish while I trolled along side his boat waiting for him to cook us breakfast IN THE MIDDLE OF THE LAKE!

I kept on fishing after that all the way till 2pm when I got a call from Troutdog saying they were ready to be picked up. I was planning on calling it a day soon after that anways but I was still 1 fish short of my limit. I decided to troll on my way to pick them up to try and get my last fish for my limit. Halfway there my rod goes bendo and I landed my 5th fish of the day!

Everything caught this weekend was on the troll using various lures all dipped/soaked in Bite-On Garlic! Fishing with my friend that works at the lake I again saw a big difference in our catch/bite rates as I was using scent and he was not. Bite-On was definetly a BIG GAME CHANGER for me last season and it looks as though it's success is going to continue. And even better is all the Bite-On products are now available in the Vine's tackle shop. Rather if your trolling, fishing doughbaits and/or trout worms, nightcrawlers, whatever, Bite-On is sure to increase your catch rates too. Give it a try, you won't regret it!
We kicked off this trout season with a bang as I know the fishing was "on the hook" for everyone, we ate lots of amazing food thanx to Big Daddy and Bobber Boy, and had alot of good laughs all weekend long.
I can't wait to get back out there on the water at my favorite lake the Vine! There's gonna be lot's of good times and great fishing this trout season! Hope to see y'all out there soon!
