Kenyon and I hit Perris yesterday morning from 7 till 3. Water temp was 63* when we got there and air temp was 38*...pretty damn cold. When we pulled up there were alot of trailer there because there was a club tourney going on. Didnt see many people catching fish while out there. Lots of guys were fishing deep ...few fish caught here and there. We fished 21 to 26 feet and I manged one but that isnt my fishing style so to speak. I told Kenyon that we should hit the shallow flooded cover and see what happens. We found some fish in 2 to 4 feet in the submerged veg. They were very picky and would not take any weighted plastics. They wanted slow falling baits so thats what we did and managed to beat the skunk. I lost a few fish that just manged to come off because I didnt set the hook. It was a nice day overall ...all fish were over 2lbs so it was nice.

Nice catches guys, especially chilly days like that, where bites are very hard to come by. How was high was the water after the rain events? 1 or 3 feet?

The water level looked a bit higher but not much.

But James, the cats! the cats! They're lurking earlier than normal. Park closes at 8. Out of water by 6:30. Sunset at 5:30. DUDE! CATS!!! They will put up as much fight as the basses. I need to get my power beams on too so I can see what the crap I'm doing.
