I think Wingnut has the best pic. http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj136/rjw915/Smileys/1611.gif

A wetsuit is safer for going deep. Getting swamped in loose waders with a strong current
or even worse a riptide could result in a drowning. You can float like a cork with
a thick neoprene.

A wetsuit is a garment, usually made of foamed neoprene, which is worn by surfers, divers, windsurfers, canoeists, and others engaged in water sports, providing thermal insulation, abrasion resistance and buoyancy. The insulation properties depend on bubbles of gas enclosed within the material, which reduce its ability to conduct heat. The bubbles also give the wetsuit a low density, providing buoyancy in water.

Bob and Bill Meistrell, from Manhattan Beach, California, also started experimenting with neoprene around 1953. They started a company which would later be named Body Glove.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wetsuit

Cmon Dan. Read the stats. Your odds of getting killed driving a car are higher than a GWS.
Odds of getting killed by some Homie in San Pedro are even higher. http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e105/CommentCrazyGirl/Smileys%20Hello%20Wave/Signs%20Goodbye/whatupSmileyfromphotobucketblondeli.gif

Hey John,
Trust me when I say I had already thought about that.
But what's the difference of just staying under and using a spear gun instead.
I have been up to my neck fishing in the surf and when the water is warm, I love it.
I would give it a try during the day though.
I have a 7mil suit in my garage as I type this.

I was there a couple months back, S.W.A.T. was in full attack mode, we had about 5 -6 in the water. Robert tends to wade out farther than the most of us.....and sometimes, it pays off dearly. I got brave, and began to wade out and follow Roberto. Roberto kept wading out, and out and out...until he was practically over the structure we were throwing our LC's to. All of a sudden, he disappeared for about 2 seconds...he actually went right over a hole underwater and he had to swim out. He was completely drenched from head to toe and all of his gear as well....I'll never forget this moment. I quickly began to wade out as well...backwards though.

It doesnt help that I can't swim... :Crying:
