My wife and I drove up last weekend. This is the latest I've ever fish up in the Sierras. Pretty much deserted in Mammoth and at the lakes which made it easy to get a good spot. Weather was incredible, highs in the low 60s and no wind. Fishing wasn't as hot as it has been during our last several fall trips but still managed to catch our limits. Perhaps the cold weather made the fish sluggish.

Missed the fall colors by about a week but, couldn't take time off earlier in the month. Snow is expected on Friday..

Just a little bit of fall color left at Lundy

Nothing huge but, still fun to catch. Felt like we were the only ones fishing on the lake on Monday.

Convict Lake was pretty much deserted too on Monday

Thanks guys. It was nice having the lake all to ourselves. It was almost a little to quiet. The roads were super clear too but, still lots of CHP so watch out if anyone is heading up.

Great pics, I love it at this time....just gets COLD! But the fish are biting. I fish the Owens off line street in Bishop all year long and I always get fish. Great job!

I will be up there Nov 11-13 and have never fished the Owens, but have heard about the area you speak of, something about artesian wells. Can you give me more info about this area? Pm me if you want.
Thanks Bill

Staying in Mammoth. I hope we can get to Mary, Mamie, Convict. I had one of my best days at Lake Mary in good snow storm. I here the upper "O" is going off. Thinking chains and ski gear will be in order.
