I'm new at surf fishing and beaches are being closed to surf fishing! :EyePop: NOoooo!!

Just an idea...

I think it would be a great idea if SWAT would select a beach that is being closed and muster up as many FNN members as possible to man up in force at the SWAT selected AO for one final effort to fish the beach in protest before the beach closure occurs!

Point Dume Beach is one of the MLPA selected beaches that will be closed to surf fishing! But remains open to commercial and sport fishing!

Also, I think that the news media should be alerted if FNN were to decide to proceed with a protest!
I truly believe that this would make a silent but huge statement!

STOP CLOSING BEACHES TO SURF FISHING!!

SWAT....You can count me in!!

I'm angry about this!!

For more information got to DFG MLPA (Marine Life Protection Act) http://stopmlpa.blogspot.com/

SWAT assisted me in updating my information. Thank you SWAT!

I AM down for a silent protest but I need to be more educated as why we would be doing this. Why are they stopping surf fishing and where are the closures gonna be?

We have been hitting all of those areas HARD for the past 5 years. SWAT can not do anything against all of the big money that made this happen. There has been millions of dollars spent on our(the fisherman's) behalf to protect our rights but to no avail.........We are at their mercy!
Taking Zuma for example.......The fisherman have been singled out as BAD for the enviroment and the fish population but that beach has 200,000 screaming....pissing...pooping kids/people on it during the summer. They don't use the disgusting bathrooms at all. But hey.......Catch and release perch fisherman are the bad guys.
Enough said......

Dan, make sure you look at the current closure maps.
The map showing Rocky Pt closure is outdated on your link up top.
Your affected area is Pt Vicente to Abalone Cove.
1999 the law was passed. Too late to make changes ?

Thank you for the update on my out dated posting.

Feeling helpless in SP. Never the less....I'm still :Angry:over the closings!
