PissOnMySpace and myself made our annual fall trek up the 395 hunting for some pig brownies... always in hopes for a new PB (currently 24 inches for me, I believe POM's is like 27 in Arkansas) and even a DD!!!! A DD is a pretty far stretch considering I don't fish lakes all that much but I do fish a lot of off the beaten track tributaries. We were up there Tues-Friday....

First Day we hit up a lot of spots along 395 from Lone Pine to Bishop... First spot was good and bad.... hooked up with a nice brownie on the Panther Martin and as I was trying to lift him up some how my freaking pole snapped, my line broke, and the fish took off with my lure in its mouth... Re-tied and hooked up again on a smaller model (15 or 16 inches ) took a pic and released back... Hit up a few other spots for some smaller fish (actually mostly bass)... Got into Big Pine and hit up a spot on the creek that was recently planted and POM and myself had our first fly fishing experience... POM just got a new fly rod and we were successful in putting a slay on... them lil buggers loved the buggers!!! After that we hit up a spot just south of Bishop and got in on some more slay action... got some nice migrating rainbows and browns...

Day 2 we went up to the E Dub in hopes in getting in some piggie browns... unfortunately, the fishing was on the slow side and were only able to land a couple bows.... left there and went back south and low and behold the slay began... Folks it was un frickn real.... that afternoon/evening we got on some of the best brown action in my life... we CNRd a good 20+ Brownies all over 15 inches.... they were stacked up doing their thing.... it was a true Brown Orgy.... it was some serious combat fishing as we hooked into some very LARGE models that fought us only to leave us cry.... we had a good 5-6 that broke us off that could of very well been PB... but what fun!!!

Day 3 we had to go back ... it was a lil slower but we still managed at least another 10 with a couple more break-off's.... we got a lil more fly fishing in at Crowley down by Crooked Creek and got quite a few, unfortunately they were on the small side

Day 4 went up to Intake 2, however, that was on the slow side as well, so we went back down the hill and fished a lot of the same places on the way home... All and all it was a great trip... I'll let the pic's do the talking.... To Tight Lines and Full Tails!!!

No, there was too many folks fishing the dam area we were hoping to get... so we turned around and went back down the hill.

TroutMasters - didn't get a chance to fish Robinson Creek... ran outta a time... plus no bear leaves once he's already found honey... hahahaha

I love being able to provide you all with enough trout porn to get you through the day.... I know it gets me amped up before I go out to get my fish on!!!

Not too much of a secret...all you have to do is look at the pictures for pretty obvious location intell. Also, look at the crowds in most of the them. The words out.

WOW ... sorry. I was just stating a perception ... not criticizing ... some people like to keep their places (honey holes IYW) a little secret. Sounds like you and Viejo may be a little defensive?

FWIW ... I saw "Lone Pine to Bishop" ... "above Big Pine" ... "just outside of Bishop ... etc" ... along with the other spots that weren't so kind like EW and I-2. So ... assumed that was where you were.

I must have missed the answer to Trout Master ... beyond saying you skipped Robinson Creek. Again, sorry.

Defensive about what? The man caught a ton of fish and posted lots of fish porn. He didn't bother to try and hide where he was. Most of the locations are obvious (and well known by the crowds in the pictures. The internet is a two edged sword. This time he got some good bragging rights. Next year, there are over 1,000 people who have gotten excited about the numbers and size of those fish on this thread. By next fall, the numbers will approach 2,000 views. They also know, pretty much where they were caught. Wanna bet there will be a few more folks lining the banks next year?

Yeah... that crossed my mind with this post.... but this spot is not a secret and not the easiest place to fish... if you do not fish it correctly and with what the fish want, you will not slay... you may get 1 or 2 and lose a half dozen rigs and leave... I'm sure a few clowns on here would probably fall in and drown.... most importantly, I just hope you CNR the majority of your fish.... if they don't spawn they won't be back!!!!!

Well put fsnlic it def was not a hard spot to find and your right if your not presenting right you wernt getting hit. I seen atleast 10 other people there and they wernt catching anything. I released all of mine I caught a couple bows as well I didn't mention in my post but I kept a bow not a brown to eat!

Some fishermen actually stay away from spawning trout. It appears there's plenty of Brownies in Grant and Rush Creek for a those who target them late in the season however. I think you all just blew up the argument that Brown Trout are some kind of endangered species. I'm heading up Friday. Think I'll grab some worms and hammer it. good fishin!

The original post only talks about Bishop to 395 day 1 ... then EW ... then back south ... then Crowley ... then Intake 2 ... later post said no interest in Robinson ... and then posted left South dam to go DOWN the hill.

When Tmaster asked if 5 or so pictures were of Rush ... I tried to help by saying the post said slaying browns from Bishop to Lone Pine ... didn't appear to be Rush Creek.

My comment about "a secret" was acually replying in support that maybe he didn't want to be too specific. Don't a lot of people on this board try to do that? ... I asked one of you for some help and got a negative "I don't know you that well" was the word.

What was offensive about saying only these words: "I think he wants to keep it a secret"

And, did you notice that I apologized ... ???

What an illiterate post.

I haven't used your gutter type language ... or your style of writing until provoked. Your use of language and name calling is showing your intelligence and class isn't it?

Like I said, I just made a remark to Tmaster that MAYBE you want to keep it a secret ... (you still are avoiding that statement - or can't read) ... Isn't that common on this board ... or are you too new to know?

I said I understood that many people do that and I have said I respect that (a statement you choose to ignore) ... and YOU jumped on me ... RIGHT ?

I apologized (a concept you're not familiar with - right?? And you're calling me defensive?

I just tried to explain ... apologized (you ignore that, too) ... and then when provoked - tried to defend myself. Read your first post ... and all that I said about it saying "Bishop to Lone Pine and the other places I just posted ... no Rush Creek (your ignoring that point too)

Can you back up your statement that I have made "backhanded comments" ... (where did you pull that one out of?) ... and when ... and how did I ask for info please?

I'd like to know.

I've been on this board a little longer than you ... and have a lot of great acquaintances ... have used vendors and guides ... ... member of team 57 and have been to their events .etc. Any wonder I would take offense at your wild harangue? ... your avoiding my points? ... your ignoring an apology that wasn't probably needed? ... and now language and accusations I know you won't be able to address.

I'll offer you a good tip ... get some counseling for your self-esteem problems.

I've always been for that. I just don't like people who jump on you ... call you foul names ... and think they are either God or the webmasters of the world. And I don't want my reputation and relationships with people on this board spoiled.

FWIW ... here's my communications with him

Where are those spots? Are they down the hill or up the hill ... and East of 395? I assure you I won't share with anyone ... and I have no problem with you keeping it a secret ... really!

Were you using a mini-jig on one of those brownies?

That's a well written, well worded response. And I appreciate it.

NTIM ... I don't actually catch that many browns ... but do CPR most all fish ... except occasionally taking home a rainbow or two to clean for friends. I travel to LA about half a dozen times a year so we pass through the Owens valley coming and going. I plan to hit some valley spots in November when the regular season is closed. Thanks for the tips. I need to try more panther martins. If you're fishing in moving water, can I assume you're NOT inflating your NC's ... and maybe just using a spit shot ... or flatlining?

Tight lines and keep the pics coming ... they keep us all excited ... and thanks for responding

billy b

(MY REPLY)

If I heard you right ... I was a little surprised (pleasantly?) to hear you write that you had picked up the brownie action below or south of Bishop? I don't know much about the valley area ... and thought that most of the brownie action would be in the PVR ... Benton Crossing type locations ... i.e. above Bishop

Good for you ... good luck ... and tight lines (with no twists) to you too.

Never understood where you went with that ... and POM went off the planet as someone else noted.

I don't understand where we're mis-connecting ... I complimented one of the brownies and the said "Great pics ... brownie #9 is real purdy ... Congrats ... always a great trip ... especially with friends?" (the friends part was meant to end the post with the asking if maybe this was the best part .. fishing with friends - even better when I read that it was your dad -IMHO) Why did you think I was being 2-faced?

Then I chose to ignore the gutter talk which followed ... plus being jumped all over ... but couldn't when it came again this time.

"no he's my father but we're also lovers too ... wtf dude? what does that matter? (what is "what?") yes we're friends ... weird (friends are weird?)
"... notice the avatar, its bangher and leever emphasis on the her part" (don't understand this)
ohhh f*ck ... don't get excited bout the long island or the fact that I have a dick on my shirt ... i knew that was a bad idea (again, dont understand this)
"POM ... u forgot the lube in my truck ... for your reels that is ... WTF was that all about"
(don't need the foul language - it's usually a sign of a person with some real personal problems)

Remember I immediately said I understood and appreciate people's right to keep some things secret? I posted it in my private message to you ... and then publicly on the board. Help me if I'm missing something.
I will admit that I'm always asking questions about rigging, lures used, bait etc. ... but figure that's not invading anybody's private stuff.

You apologized (and I thank you) ... so I'm going to "END" it also. Good luck and good fishing!
