fished skinner today before work. 6am-9am. 24 pounds with a big fish of 8.13. the scale was set somehow to kilograms and i didnt know what the hell my scale was saying when it jumped form 20 to 30 to whatever it said next. battery too low? who knows. finally got the thing to read a regular number and it said 8.13. i know for a fact it wasnt an 8 but the scale doesnt lie i guess. i was thinking more along the lines of 9+.

anyway, the bite is starting to settle into a late fall/winter bite. we nailed around 15 largies with a good portion around 4 and the remainder 15" 2 pound rats. definitely noticing the bite dwindle. maybe a week to go before its back to the other stuff.

definitely disappointed as the bite was not as cannibal as it has been. water temp had dropped 4 to 5 degrees at 66 and the air temp at 47. VERY still morning. barometer read about 30

reaction baits in the non existent wind. north shore.

here's a picture we took.

thanks guys i really appreciate the kind words.

by cannibal i meant, wide open. the wolfpacks of larger fish would come through at specific times and if you had the right line (angle of retrieve according to your structure or cover) you were bit EVERY cast. today the fish were descent sized but not exactly the bite i was looking for. dont get me wrong, im appreciative every time im able to whack a solid limit like that, i was just anticipating the fish to be a little over eager to jump on my plug like they had been the 3 days prior.

fun lake, but hard to get the quality.
