Its been a solid bloom for a month or more, and seems to be getting worse. How long does the bloom typically last?

We fished last Saturday. The algae was coming through in waves but it didn't affect the fishing adversely. The algae would fall off of my line when I tapped the pole and tapping the pole seemed to trigger hits. I can't complain about that.

Ditto that, went today, fishing was great. Stay deep, 30 ft or more. Stripers and LMB are playing. No need for bait for stripers, stick to the lead core at 8 colors. LMB are at the ends of major points in 45+ft. Bye for now.

Went out there yesterday monday 10/31 first thing in the morning; second boat in line. Tha marina area was covered with algae patches; looked like kelp patches with areas of cleaner water. Trolled lead core without any problems. Good day for stripers, limited out in about 2 hours. Then went LMB fishing, cought 1 in about 2 hours in the west end; water was relativly clean there. The wind is pushing the algae around so if you fish the upwind area it's OK. Came back to the marina and it looked like an oil spill, never seen anything like it. Solid algae 20 ft thick. The boat trailer and the prop was covered solid with the stuff. DVL needs to have a water hose so you can wash this stuff off before it dries.

I could still catch a bass in that. Just go weedless. granted, you'll get a few minor fouls, but fish will still hit a lure/worm trailing algae.
