The Hike

Drove down to my lucky fishing spot in LB this morning to get some R&R in
after a long weekend at work. I get there around 9am and theres already
several heads in the fishing zone ... :Shocked:

No Monday morning light today . I stick it out for about 30mins. and decide
to try a spot a little more tranquil . Its back to my car for a short road trip.

After arriving at spot #2 i put on my hiking boots , load up my back pack
and make the trek down to the water .

Now this is more like it ... :Big Grin:

The weather was overcast with a slight breeze , the crowd - ZERO :Big Grin:

Water conditions were flat calm , only trouble was lots of kelp !
Had to find small pockets to cast into to keep from getting snagged.

Found this nice little pocket being guarded by an ever so curious Sealion , and after a brief stare down ... lol
He moved on .

Soon after i get my first catch of the day ... Calico on the plastic :Big Grin:

Stuck it out there for about one hour and then headed out to spot #3

After another short hike down to the water i had a brief encounter with some ANGRY LOCALS !! ... lol

I find a nice spot and make several cast towards a boiler rock !

Bam !! i get hit on the drop , YEAH ! ... i start winding as fast as i could to keep'em from getting in the kelp !

As I'm gaining line on it , I'm thinking to my self ??
Wait a minute ------------------- he's not fighting back.

Could it be a piece of kelp ??

I pause for a second ............ there it is -TUG ! TUG !
OH S*** ........................... better keep winding !

BAM ! ................................. it's a mini checker ... lol

Now that covers the catching for the day.

The hike was great , burned a few calories and feeling the pain from the workout . I tell myself , now if i could only get myself to eat one of those low calorie meals from subway for lunch ... :LOL:

Just as i'm on my way to Subway , i get caught at a red light !
I look over to my right and its Mr Jack(Jack in the Box)calling my name ... lol

I think you all know how that went ... lol

After one ultimate cheeseburger , fries and a lemonade there goes my workout ... lol
Oh well , theres always tomorrow ... lol

The Hike Day 2


Today i made it back out to my " lucky spot " in LB. for about 1 hour to get a quick fix .

First up was this small Hali ... :Big Grin:

I was at KH a couple weeks ago with my daughter . Seen 1 Bonito
caught by JCS and one good size Calico caught off the short pier.

Appreciate a heads up if you see the Bonito in KH come back in good numbers.
