Acepted an invitation to fish for mini stripers at DVl
by the Fishinator (Paul) on his boat,

he wanted some fishtacos, and we fished a few hours in the morning.

The water has lots of algae in most parts of the lake, these days,
it may be better to wait a couple of weeks for better results, clean water, bigger fish.

There was a little topwater action early am, and we had fun with top water lures,
nailed some and later when then all jailbirds moved deep, we fished bait.

I'm gonna help you out here Big D. http://www.arkansasstripers.com/striper_spawning.htm
A mature female puts out 6 times the eggs of a six year old fish. More eggs, more stripers born. More stripers in the confined area of a lake, the faster they take over the lake until you end up with skinny stripers with big heads, smaller bass, yada yada. I know this subject has been beaten to death, but for crying out loud, big or small (when it comes to stripers in a lake) Kill Them All. Just ask Mr. Quinn Granfors.

a chain saw may work

Successful reproduction occurs in only a handful of inland reservoirs and rivers in the United States.
The Arkansas River and Red Rivers in Arkansas have a successful spawning population.
Because striped bass eggs must remain suspended in a current with a high salinity level until hatching,
the lakes in Arkansas are unsuitable for natural reproduction.

fat chance for them to hatch at drinking water dVL

They do hatch at DVL, Castaic, Skinner, Pyramid, Silverwood, Mathews the Colorado river and all the lakes along that chain. But not at perris. Do you really think that the millions of stripers in DVL get in from the Delta water that's been the only water to come into the lake for years, but not into Perris? Case Closed.

Why do they not spawn @ Perris? They're there, thats for sure.

The debate is fun and Mr. Taco knows his stuff, but he is wrong on this one, sorry sir!

If I could catch "mini's" consistently like that at Silverwood I would be a very happy man. Good job!
