wallmart has 100 foot lengths of braided nylon rope in 3/8s diameter
camo colored awesome only............ $ 5.75 each wow
home depot charges $ 34.00 for the same rope
i got mine at murrieta wallmart:EyePop:

Ya but did you see the pound rate on it? You need a strong rope just in case it gets stuck you can tug on it and pull it out.

dude i only anchor in 30 to 50 feet because ive almost tipped my boat over3 times trying to pull my anchor free with this rope .the rope never breaks but muy 14 foot jonboat almost went down.
if you are used to loosing acchors use a cinderblock

I went and bought three of them in West Hills. Feels pretty soft, doesn't have the rot and mildew protection of stuff specifically made for the water, but for that price, can't hurt!

Would you guys recommend splicing 2 or 3 of these together to anchor at say DVL or Castaic? My buddy says it's very important to have a single rope, and not tie them together, but a 300' coil is pretty expensive...

I use the stuff at harbor freight which is the same price and that stuff kicks arse lol it;ll last a few years

I have never lost an anchor but i would rather stick to actual anchor rope. It is made to absorb water and probably is more sun resistant than that rope would be. I bought my anchor rope at bass pro and dont remember how much i paid for it but id rather spend more money on better rope. Just in my opinion.
