Whats up fnn? Just got the computer fixed, wasn’t able to upload photos….booooo!!!! This is a delayed report, so ill keep it short. I took my nephew on his 1st backpacking trip up in the LLV August 25th-28th. It was a 1st for a few things for him…We planned on staying at the Mountain View motel the first night, then hittin the trail bright and early the next day. Unfortunately, a storm rolled in and we were faced with the dilemma of hiking up into it, or heading down the valley and staying another night in town. Wanting him to enjoy the trip, we headed back to Bishop…At the time, it seemed as if double digits were being pulled outta south lake every other day, so that’s where we headed. Nothing to write home about, but the nephew did catch his 1st jig fish. We probably caught around 15 fish before we headed down to Intake II for handful more. We finished off the day at bishop creek, with the nephew catching his 1st fish while drifting a worm.
The next day we hit the trail and fished a few lakes on the way up. I must say I was surprised with how easy the hike was. Mainly flat with numerous fish willing to bite throughout the valley. We arrived at camp, set up shop, and handled some B.I. We finished the day absolutely slaying the brookies at the inlet. I’d say 30+ fish in an hour. Next day, the nephew fished the inlet for a few more, before heading back to the car. Can’t say which lake it was, and if you know; keep it hush hush, but I did see just a beast of a brown cruising in one of the lakes…..30+ inches, 10+ lbs. That’s the perks of getting out and about boys. Enjoi the pics.
