Meh I can never do spiders as pets.

I have a soft spot for Orchid Mantids though

Loads of character. Kinda cheap too. Just have to feed them live houseflies from blue bottle fly larvae.

I suppose if I did do spiders, the little jumping spiders would be the smartest and cutest of the spiders out there.

We have a miniture version of the camel spider here in the states.
I hate them. I shreek like a girl everytime I see one.
They haul freakin ***, look light colored and hard to see like a scorpion and have the three jaw deal going on. Hate them. Nasty
They look sorta like this but without the hair.
I have never seen them larger than a couple quarters in diameter though thank goodness.

And yes they are aggressive too. They have to be for groundspiders.
I believe they are called desert web spider.
Their "snout" is a bit shorter than this one here. IT has two fangs on top and one on bottom.
Looks like something out of a horror movie. Worse than this one below

They aren't just found in the deserts, you can find them in orange county, too. We actually have lots of large arachnids around here that people don't know about.

Like these:

You can find these all over Orange county foothills. I've seen a few at laguna lake at night. they burrow and only come out at night.

I'm a spider nut (despite being female LOL.) I have four tarantulas, see pics below.

T. Blondiaka Goliath Birdeater, largest known species of spider on the planet with some specimens reaching 13+ inches.

P. Metallica or Gooty Sapphire Ornamental (bet you never knew a tarantula could be colored like this!)

P. murinus, aka Usumbara Orange, aka OBT or 'orange bitey thing,' so nicknamed for their nasty tempers.

The fourth is P. Regalis, ala Indian Ornamental.

Sure did! Most came from Swifts, the p metallica I traded Disneyland tickets for. The blondi is seven years old and will be bred soon. I also have one M. cabolca sling that I forgot to mention. :)
