Homicide detectives with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision between a boat and personal water craft on the water of the Puddingstone reservoir shortly after 4:30 P.M. on Saturday, October 15, 2011.

Paramedic diver deputies assigned to the Sheriff's Special Enforcement Bureau-Emergency Services Detail, along with Los Angeles County Lifeguard divers, are trying to locate a recording device which was mounted to the personal water craft involved in the collision.

The divers are spending the day searching in the lake for the device and hope its recovery will provide valuable information regarding this tragic incident.


The lake at Puddingstone Reservoir was closed Monday, Oct. 17, to boating and water activities to continue the investigation into the fatal boating accident Saturday. Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park, 120 Via Verde in San Dimas, remained open to the public Monday.


A joint investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is being conducted by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and the Los Angeles County Parks and Recreation Department.

Sheriff's Homicide Bureau detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision between a boat and personal water craft on the water of the Puddingstone reservoir shortly after 4:30 P.M. on Saturday, October 15, 2011.

Detectives have learned that three women on a personal water craft were killed after colliding with a 21' boat. The cause of the accident is still under investigation but investigators have determined that the driver of the boat was not intoxicated. It is still unknown if the occupants on the personal water craft were intoxicated. Those occupants have been identified as Aurora Yeso, 53; Anesia Bautista, 47 and Maricon Abello, 34.

The driver of the boat and three of its occupants were transported to local hospitals where they were treated for minor injuries and later released.

Homicide detectives, working in conjunction with an Accident Recreation Specialist from the Los Angeles County Parks and Recreation, will attempt to recreate the accident to determine the cause.

never heard of one of these .. unless theyre like helmet cams or some kind of aftermarket cam??? again tragic accidents happen yearly each lake here in so.cal ; interested in what investigation discovers. condolence to those involved
