Hooped SD bay last Friday from 7pm-7am. High tide was at 10:38pm didn't get much from 7-12. After that they started to crawl (at lest for us) finished the session with 15 roaches, 15 rock crabs, and 2 spider crabs between 5 guys and tons of very short and the hmmmmmm, just a **** hair shy ones. We all busted our *** off to get what we got. Many sets and pick up and moves. Short soak was the ticket for us that night because we noticed most of the bugs was in our later nets that's was dropped.
Giving it another shot this Friday w/ 3 guys and trying to go for boat limits.
Question: When we got the boat to Camp Pendleton to wash it down (no wash down in Shelter Island) and clean up the boat we noticed a short bug under the seat. Must've fallen out of the hole of one of the nets I'd pull thatbhad a legal and 1 short. I grab the legal to measure and didn't see the short, thought he fell back in the water.....what would y'all do if that happened to you. Come home and discovered a stow away in your boat.
