El Dorado has been pretty dead the past few weeks. I haven't caught a bass there since Labor Day weekend. Most of the regulars that I run into there have been getting skunked on a regular basis, too. Since my normal go-to baits haven't been working, I decided to try my luck with my fly rod. I threw on a heavy streamer and worked the south side of the paddleboat lake for one 16"-17" LMB (maybe about 3-4 lbs?):

way to go its good to see someone adapt to the situation. seems most of the parks are dead lately. wich means it can only get better. hopefully sooner than later. once again nice bass.

Yep, those two alaskan storms that rolled in dumped alot of frigid water into the lakes.

Tomorrow through friday are forecast to be quite warm.

I spent TWELVE hours hunting for a bass, Used roboworms, Senkos, Cut-tail worms, Lizards, a YUM craw, Luck-E-Strikes... NOTHING. I could hardly even get bluegill to peck at the baits!

Nice Bass! But I think it's more like 2 to 2.5 lbs.

you just had to rain on his parade, Didn't you ? Just f**king with you. You 're absolutely right. Nice fish, good catch on the fly, wish I can catch a bass.

No prob, I don't have a scale so I was roughly estimating the weight. I managed to catch another LMB today that was a little longer than this one and had a bigger belly. If the one on the fly is 2-2.5 lbs, the one today felt like 2.5-3 lbs.
