Saturday I got a chance to show a couple of new fly fishing buddies of mine the West Fork. After a short bike ride and some seat complications we arrived at the first area we wanted to fish. As Gabe and I locked up our bikes we got to see a doe with her two fawns going down to the river for a morning drink. It was definitely a cool thing to see first thing before even wetting a line. Setting up Dave got to see the 3 deer as they made their way up into the woods that he missed from arguing with his seat, ha! We all three got rigged up with dry flies of various patterns and made our way to the water. This first area we landed about 6-7 fish in the 4-6 inch range. We all agreed on needing more practice setting the hook, as the little trout would spit it quick. After this spot we mounted up and headed down stream. The second spot we hit was really fun, just a ton of action and feisty little trout going after any fly presented properly. A couple more stops, one with the largest fish of the day and we packed it in about 12 even. All in all a good day where everyone caught fish. Something that I do with my buddies is largest fish of the day and it went to Dave on this trip with a nice little trout pushing 8 inches. Sorry for the links I just got so frustrated trying to embed the pics from Picasa, if anyone uses Picasa from google, pls post a reply how to embed the pics in the post!!! Thx
