Oct. 6th Shad Shad Shad

Planned on doing some recon for a guide trip Friday and to dry the boat out, the rain soaked my boat.
Got on the water around 12:30 I think, first thing I saw was a huge blow up right at the dock, big striper had chased a bait out towards the buoys right off the dock and blew up on the fish again, tossed a Sammy on them as soon as i could but nodda...
Ran over to Sharron's rest and only left a couple of time just to check out some other spots..
Made bait really easy just north along the shore line from C point and this is how the day went, 1 striper on a shad and about 35 bass from the little guys to a big girl that went 6.5 on the Dave scale.. there's one shot were a bass just boiled and if you look to the upper right youcan see the boil.
Ran into John M. and his crew on the bad bass's ranger I've ever seen. John was fishing shad in another spot and ran out of bait, so I told him were they could find a few scoops... lol
Anyway really cool day, big clouds and neat fall weather, got the water before closing and talked to a couple guys to see how they did, seem everyone did well, these guys said the striper boiled good back towards Elizabeth.
Only about 7 boats out on the water today.... love it...

you can use Anchovies,Sardines,or other cut baits and try fishing near the buoy line at the north end of lake or near the point of the ski arm area.Stripers are usually always moving around.

They were made by a guy in Castaic and arn't made anymore, the size is a 2ft ring and 8th handle
