Probably not but there was definitely less boils there on Monday than the prior weeks. Plenty of shad still around though.

Can you supply a link to their website? We are planning to hit it in the afternoon. Thanks!

Water temps....shad spawn relative to those...

Boils are obviously concurrent with the shad groupings..

very difficult to find print data to explain all this, maybe at some point some bioligist will do a comprehensive article to cover the variables...and there are many variables...wind.. water currents, water clarity, etc..

Mainly when the colder weather finally translates to colder water temps you'll see the dropout of boils.

Storms certainly do put a damper on activity...rapidly falling barometric pressures not only affect the shad activity but moreso the target fish's behavior..

One needs to wrap their head around all that goes on but it all starts with the plankton and the sun's energy that juices up the plankton activity therefore juicing the shad and subsequently firing up the stripers by the large groupings and clusters of shad...

Like I say...real hard to find print data on the subject in detail but this article may help just a little...

I noticed they mention april to July for the spawn but thats always relative to region...it's clear the shad are in that cycle now and will be for a bit (my opinions).

Anyways, here's the article but again it is far from conclusive and has many loopholes to apply to our region out here:
