People tend to call fish by their more popular names. Plus, reds are just a whole lot easier to blurt out than vermillion rockfish.

Personally, I prefer calling fish by their scientific names... But that's because I'm a nerd.

I'll pass, to tough and lazy to learn Latin or whatever is. :Confused:
vermillion rockfish, ... Sebastes miniatus
Bocaccio Sebastes paucispinis
Can't even pronounce them or remember.
