Raining Fire + a RED H0T Catfish Bite! (9-30-11)

Started the day around 4pm. Met Josh, launched my boat, and then we were off to our 1st spot of the day.

Here's a few pics I shot shortly after we anchored up at our 1st spot!

While the rain missed us the sky opened up all around us and we could see rain off in the distance everywhere!

Then as the sun started to set the rain turned to fire for what turned out to be the most beautiful Vine sunset i've ever seen!

Things weren't happening in the 1st spot so we decided to move. The fish were def biting at the next spot we tried so we ended up staying for the rest of the night in the 2nd spot.

I ended the night with five catfish and Josh with two.

My biggest of the night was this fatty 5lb 15oz channel catfish!

Tonight my 5 fish were caught using fresh bait dipped/soaked in Bite-On Cajun!

Josh and I are trying to get in as much pre-KOTC practice as we can. With 2 weeks left we're ready to make our run at the title of "King of the Cats". I'll likely be out there again this Friday night trying to hook into another one of those "catch of a lifetime" at my favorite lake, "the Vine"!

Nice evening's outing! Just curious; was that Friday evening? There was a line of rain falling on the western edge of the clouds on my drive home from work (WB 91 from the IE), looked just like a curtain of fire falling from the clouds. Totally unreal sunset.

Yeah it was Friday night. What a beautiful sunset and to see it from my favorite lake, the Vine!

I'll be joining you again this friday. Thanks for the tips on those reels, definitely made a difference and really liking them a lot! As for that sunset, i talked to the wife and she said that over long beach EVERYTHING was bathed in red it was really awesome.
