View Full Version : Latest possible ID on mystery fish

This is what one person said the fish could be,what do you think?Everyone else thinks its a BSB.
First couple of pics are mine,last one is a grouper from Florida.
The fish was caught yesterday tuesday 80ft depth.

Doesn't seem like a BSB to me but rather some other kind of grouper.

I too, was worried that it was a juvi BSB but smokehound was spot on. Awesome rare catch. You are lucky to have caught it and taken pics.

star-stud? The shrimpers down south sometimes have them with the shrimp they sell. They tell me it is a cabrilla :L

Yeah got that Thanks,actually a fellow poster,put me in contact with a Marine biologist who gave me some more info on the species,says there very rare even where there from,all the way to Peru and other locals.
Like they say, saltwater fishing you never know what your going to pull up!
