Hi: I recently purchased a "DVL" legal boat & have been fishing there several times always fishing for Largemouth. I would love to try out that "Striper Fishing" I've been reading about so I'm looking for someone to "back seat" me that knows how to find & catch them suckers! If you'd like a "free ride" & don't mind sharing your secrets with me, please give me a yell. I'm retired & can go just about anytime during the week (prefer not to go on the weekends). Thanks & I hope to hear from someone soon. Reply to this message or call Jim at 951.926.4511. Same offer goes for Largemouth as well.

1. when you see shad boiling....flyline a fluke into it from as far away as possible.
2. head to the inlet where the FLEET of boats is baiting and waiting for stripers and cast away.
3. consult SeaAddiction on flylining stocker trout in 30 feet of water off of rocky points (heehee)
4. Find a bait ball on the graph and drop a spoon through it
5. Consult a trolling expert like TO or Kahn

"Like a good neighbor...State Farm is there!" FRAP......you are now a striper expert!

Thanks for the tips, most of which I've heard previously. Knowing what to do & then actually doing it, unfortunately is two different things. I learn much better by having someone "show" me rather than just "telling" me. I'm not sure how to;

1. rig my pole for Stripers. Line size, hook type & size, etc. (if fishing with bait).
2. Don't most of the people use mackerel or sardines? Don't they work better than a jigging a spoon?
3. I have yet to see any shad or Striper boils while on the lake; how do you find them suckers?

I've never taken a Largemouth out of the lake, but I would like to take home some Striper's if I ever catch one. So I would be fishing for "food" rather than "sport", in this case.

Want to "show" me?

Thanks again; I do appreciate your help.... Jim

I am no expert but I am lucky
they say better lucky than good
these days the striper are deep
and in a couple of weeks will be on top
a diferent game, I can fish Tuesday for sure
normally I target the big ones,
but three is a lot of 6 pounders to be had
mostly on cut sardine on a sliding egg sinker
by the tower, the west side of the lake.

It pleases me to see I'm still on your mind.... I herd from some locals that your a big smack talker, still laughing about you seeing me get busted by DFG...... That's good stuff. Your a funny man Mr storm crow..... I'll be back to catching " hopefully " tomorrow at dvl so get ready to be incredibly envious. And just so you know, DFG has public records, next time you accuse someone of fishing live trout and getting busted...... Make sure you can prove it Einstein.......
