Hey all, well we're packin up and heading to some place a bit more affordable. In exchange for a lower mortgage payment, I would be able to buy a boat (Finally!).

I checked out portlan and know about the salmon and sturgeon in the area, but know NOTHING about eugene.

Anybody have any advice, info?

If the fishing near portland is drastically better, that could affect my decision.

THanks,

Joe

thanks dude,

looks like I'll have to drive up to portland for salmon and sturgeon, but I'm sure there are great rivers near eugene.

I moved to washington last year. I love it.

But I'am having to relearn fishing. Very different techniques up here.

Portland has the Columbia river next to it. Good salmon, sturgeon, walleye fishing there. Or head to the coast for albacore and salmon.
I don't know much about Eugene. I know there are several good rivers above Portland.

I fished mostly salt water in SoCal, so I moved next to the Puget Sound, but I really like river fishing more than I thought I would.

Here's for chinook we got last week

rainbow, thanks for the tips and the website link. I think I'd probably like fishing by portland better, but eugene looks like a nice place to live. All depends on the job opportunities I suppose.

Who knows, if we can't sell our house, I may be living here a while longer. :D
