Yorba Lake is officially DEAD! ...well, kinda... let me explain
A buddy in our fishing group was fishing there when the ranger walked up to him and asked him if he had any luck? My buddy said no. The ranger laughed and said it was because all the fish in the lake(s) died.
Apparently, they algae was so bad, the city sprayed the lake with algae killer, only to kill all the fish in there.
40+ pound carp, large koi, cats and bass etc were all floating dead, it took the park a few days to gather all the dead fish.
Two of the three lakes were drained and refilled. The water is crystal clear in those two lakes.
The third lake, which hadnt been drained yet, still has some fish. My buddy went by yesterday and saw a few very small fish roll.
Very upsetting, but I thought Id share with you all.
