Got to the lake at 0630 to a huge line..Got underway at 0715..Went over to Ronsons cove and caught a bass or two on the spook..Decide to go up and get some stripers. Metered around and saw nothing. Lots of boat spread out with no one catching any. Made a few drifts and got 1. Wind came up a little so I anchored. Got 1 more.. A real nice guy decided to anchor up wind of me and dropped his anchor about right on top of mine. Needless to say it ended up with both of us pulling our tangled anchors. No big deal.. Went to fish bass and meter around some more for nothing. Came back to the outlet spot and metered around and saw a few fish, by now it's 1330. Anchored up and figured I would just finish the day here and see what happens. About 1430 I got bit.. and it was wide open for about 2 hours. Got 2 8lbs'er and one about 9.5 lbs in a row.. ended up with a limit land let a few go and gave a few away..lost a fish that I was on for 10 minutes at least..that was the one and only time I put the 10lb line rod down. Not the best pictures but you know what stripers look like. Got back to the ramp just before 1800 and left them biting, got one on my last bait. Wish I wouldn't have kept the smaller ones from the morning but you know how that goes. Saw a rattle snake out there swimming around today also..FYI-If you want to anchor in 200' of water and not drag anchor you need some proper ground tackle for YOUR boat..lots of line and chain and a good anchor. I use a Navy anchor in the mud there and it seems to work very well..

I found that sticking it out at DVL is fishing in the wind with everyone more or less gone home and fishing can be really good ,with the sun being really low in the west is really kinda cool being on that lk. that late in the afternoon .
