So there's the report, reason why... who no's, I haven't seen any algae problem what so ever, guess it's paid for so it's got to be done.... the lake will be closed until 1:00 pm...

Castaic's site says this: "Upper Lake Closure, 9-13-2011 for water treatment, will open at 1pm, lower lake will conduct business as usual."

How long does it normally take for things to recover??

Last year we caught quite a few fish on the boils after people said they bluestoned.

I remember, never was, big shad die off due to getting caught in non oxyenaded water, or something like that, i had fun dipping shad in the rain that day.

I'll take an educated guess. They did it on the east branch here in the AV on the duct not long ago. There were no weeds or moss but it was done to control the odor of the water. Don't know if Castaic water has some stink to it but that might be the reason? Bako sending the stink down and getting split to east and west branches of the SWP :Big Grin: It was 2 minor doses that were done here. Lake conditions obviously different.

As a side note, both times they blustoned the duct just recently I did better than most any other summer in recent memory catching multiple stripers. Don't know how that translates to the lakes but just and FYI. Might be good there too?
