Made it out to the BU around 6:30am today for a little "me" time on the sand... Small waves, no wind, cool air, and lots of salad...

Arrival at sunrise~~~

Started off with crack and started catching perch in the 7-10" range right away:

Didn't bother with the sandcrabs... The walleyes then moved in:

Didn't see anyone else at all.. Was peaceful.. Finished off with a last perch:

Left around 9:30am... Prob should've tried some sandcrabs.. But I got lazy~ was tough enough to find fishable areas between the salad. Caught/released 17 total BSP/wsp.. Good times...

A little help please. BSP = barred surf perch wsp = white surf perch. I thought the wsp were immature bsp. What are walleyes ? (wsp) Sorry for the lack of knowledge but I am trying to learn. Yellowdog

Hey yellowdog! Yeah I had to get the lingo as well... Wsp = walleye surf perch. Wsb = white sea bass.

As for walleye surf perch.. Here's some info. http://www.beaconsbeach.com/walleye_surfperch.htm

They hit pretty hard for their size initially... But I find they don't fight much after the initial hit on your bait. Beats a skunk though :)
