thanks for reminding me bro, mine was almoast half empty lol!! the mystery fish wasnt a mystery, it was a 6+ foot leopard that i worked in on 8lb izor platnum and almoast landed when he took a short 15 foot run and found a rock or somthing to cut me off on. i have a carbontex drag in my curado200 and had it buttoned down with my thumb on the spool and the line still didnt break, to all the people who say carrot stix are weak and izor sux....... you cant see me right now but your getting the finger lmao. Btw i was in longbeach, shark hit a 3" sexy smelt while the hali ate a 3" baitfish pattern on the drop. fish hard all day and caught 1 small hali early and about 10 lizard fish plus the legal but and got to fight the shark which was cool because i was wanting to test my drag.

yeah ive gone out like 5 times without a legal, its nice to finaly get one with some size instead of the normal 23-26" fish. i was so dissapointed when the shark broke me off after that epic battle on 8lb.... i wanted to break my rod in half but it was still early in the day lol.

thanks guys, my next casting rod is going to be a custom job for sure as i want it acid wraped with mini guides and a little bit longer. the butt wasnt hard on 8lb, ive caught bigger on 6 but I was amazed when fighing that shark on how strong it was, most 10lb would have probly broke lol.

Wow! Very impressive. What is in the mouth? It looks like a big chain?

vanillagurilla
09-06-2011, 04:12 PM
its a thin rope i use to keep it in the water, like a stringer but longer.

Karyn

I made the photo larger- and it was more clear. I think the way the rope was looped made in the small picture made it look like chain links. My stringer looks different than that kind- but now I understand. Thanks for the info.

yeah its a great rod, idk why people hate on carrot stix, i rolled the dice and i love this thing. only thing i would change would be to have it a little longer and better guides, other then that its a tough stick.
