goin to carlsbad laggon tomorrow

going to carlsbad lagoon agian. I did not go last time cause of work but plan on going tomrw 8/28.my friend wants to go out to the carlsbad lagoon by the power plant tomorrow. ANyone ever fished there before? any suggestions or advise on what to use. We are fishing from the shore and plan on using lures, plastics, and maybe bait. I would appreciate any infor. thanks :)

Its pretty good this time of year.
I use to fish there almost every day.
I get more success on droplooped 1/2 chovies.
I even caught a fat sculpin there.
Lots of halibuts and calicos.

Did you know its a wsb hatchery for sea world.
There are different variety of fish.
Halibuts
croakers
smelts
sting rays
sharks
octopus
calico
rock fish

Heres a tip!
Fish by the bridge.
If theres current coming in and out you have a good chance
of catchinh fish.
Low tide....... Sucks!
