Took too long getting ready, resulting in My arriving later than I wanted to. Oh well.

Around 6 am, Arrived to knee-to-waist high surf, wash cycle conditions, but manageable.

After spending a little while gathering sandcrabs, I cast out, resulting in a decent perch. Fought really well.

after that, I noticed a gentleman walk by, dragging a nice 4-5 lb corbina on a stringer. Got me psyched up. I cast out, and realize the swell is pulling me to the left, at first, I was annoyed, but then I noticed a nice deep hole, and as soon as the swell carried my bait into the hole, The fish were all over it!

After having fun with the swell, I get another hit, this time, a small yfc

After a quick release, I cast out again, The waves were making it a bit difficult to notice hits, but that didnt stop me >=D

MAN, the fishing was on fire. WFO!

I try to see if any more fish are hanging around the hole, and AGAIN!

ANOTHER surfperch! A little bigger this time.

I cast out AGAIN! *THUD* Zzz-ZZzzz!

A solid yfc. Man, this fish fought hard, made me think "CORBINA!!" Decided to keep it. Havent had a croaker in a while. The Croakers are in spawning mode right now!

He was a bleeder, anyway.. wouldnt have lasted long after the bloodletting that resulted from hook removal!

I cast out on the other side of the jetty, getting tired of perch X(, and I feel a hard tug, and a headshake, could this be another croaker?

Another perch  Oh well, it was a nice one, at least.

I move back to the hole, and I get my cue to find new structure:

Damnit, friggen walleyes, I swear once you catch one, the spot is dead

I take a walk to a different jetty, hoping for some corbina action, and cast out..

..for a couple more BSP..

Getting tired of small perch, I decide to toss a big-*** sandcrab out, and i feel a sharp tug...

Very hard-fighting little female leopard shark! Had me thinking I had a bean!

That's better! some fighters showing up, now.

I cast another large sandcrab, and BOOM

Tough little batray gives me a run. Man, these guys sure use the surf to their advantage!

Still hoping for a Corbina to give me a great fight, I toss out back-to-back sandcrabs, resulting in another perch X(

It's now 11:40, and I'm getting tired...

One last cast....

...... *tug*

Very small pup! Must be a huge leo swimming around here..

At this point, I'm too tired to fish, and make my way home. I -WILL- catch a bean before this summer is over!!

Have a nice day! All fish released! (except for the YFC )

Nice job !

I love finding a hole hiding fish. The tide was challenging, yesterday.

Nice work Smokehound! I went to to Balboa pier yesterday for WFO! Macs. Also, along the way to the pier a gentleman had a 4-5lb corb in his bucket. My cousin took a pic with it so I'll try to get that up. Anyways, the bite a Newport right now is just insane! I don't have to tell you that though lol.

No Beans, but a good day catching! I saw plenty of nice corbina in Manhattan Beach today, but I couldn't catch one. Grrrr.
