View Full Version : Balboa Lake: quick fix

Lil TD and I got to the lake less than an hour before closing on the way to my folks house and found a wide open bite on the tilapia. Best bet for us was to fish a piece of crawler on the bottom, all the dinks were coming under the bobber so we ditched that rig quickly in hopes of the larger models....

This place always seems to gets a bad rap because of the stinky water, but it sure does the trick for a quick fishing fix when time is short and hey the sunset shots aren't too bad either! :Wink:

Balboa has some kittys, carp and HUGE plecostomus (think aquarium sucker fish)....see you soon Phyl!

So, TD, what bait would you recommend for the plecostomi, algae maybe? I have seen those monsters. They look like something from a scfi movie.
