Pyramid Striper Report 8/17

Got to the lake a little later than planned, but got the boat off the trailer just after 7am. Made a quick run to the YellowBar dock. Nothing was going on back there, but the water level was up about 4-5 ft from last Tuesday. My wife and I through top water, swim and jerk baits for about 20 minutes for a zero. So, decided to get out to main lake and there they were on the west side fo the Island. There was already two boats on the boils so I gave them plenty of room and then we all had our own boils to work with. I launched my jerk bait into the boil as they were not as intense or concentrated this morning, they were pretty spread out. Then bam, I get hit nice 1.5lb I get him in. Then My wife says I got one, she fights it and lands it. I was proud and happy she got her first Striper. I decided to change to my Spook for some topwater and bang I land another...in the end we land 4 during this boil session. And I Mr Stripey, did break me off and took my Spook for a souviner...But hey I always buy two identical lures, so I tied on another...spent the next few hours chasing boils near the island, today they only where up top for maybe 15-20 seconds, so we only had one chance to hook up in the early afternoon, cuz they went down quick....started to pay more attention to the birds as they were on the hunt as well..that was definately a tell-tell sign...then between 1:30 and 2:30, the boils were more concentrated, and fierce....final count My wife landed 4 and I landed 5....Fish tacos!!!!
