Arrive at north samo a little before 6am. The tide was coming in and the waves seemed a bit nasty imo. caught a few perches and lost 3 decent hookups. the darn leader broke at the hook all three times. i need to work on my knots. I would appreciate any knot suggestions for floro leader. the highlight of the morning was landing my first sngf from the surf. it took a while to get my hands on it but got it done nonetheless. i couldn't work out the timing, the tide kept on pulling it back in, i guess i have a bit of a slow learning curve. here's a picture of one of the better perch and the sngf.

Good job on some fishies In SAMO , haven't fished that area in a long time since i target the northern beaches
( ventura county) and up.

Palomar knots haven't failed me yet on the surf , try it and see if it works for you .

Howdy Stressd,
That is a nice sized shovel you got there.
I concur with fishincrave, try a palomar knot.
Thanks for the report,
Robert

yup! I agree... the palomar knot is the quickest/easiest knot for me... and I've had great success with it as well...

I prefer the palomar it's easy and for those with limited sight it's pretty easy good job
