In particular, I'm thinking about 2, 3 or 4 lbs Berkley Nanofil for jig fishing. Anyone tried this?

I do use fast action and super fast response rods so the no stretch may require a bit slower reactions but curious if anyone tried those line for jigs.

Thanks,

Well, I have never tried it...but I have seen it and felt it and it seems pretty dam cool. Very smooth with little memory. It looks very castable and durable...

Then I talked to a guy at BPS who had been using it for a month or so...he said he found it to be WAY overrated and went back to braid....

Haven't used it personally but a buddy of my swears by it. He started using it for trout and loved it. I'm going to pick some up for my panfish pole. I'll report back after the first session.

Great line by far the best casting line out on the market. You need to use braid knots as it can slip if not tied right. I think it will be great for mini jigging since it floats a little bit better than mono. Try it with an open mind and I am sure you will like it.

Nanofil beats any other line but u can only use it on spinning reels. I use 4lb for crappie and its amazing how far u can cast the jig. You can feel the bite way better and the line doesnt stain. I cant wait to try it out for trout season this line is tough as braid.

So you get 150yds for $20.00, are you using mono backing? Certainly 150yds of 4lb or 6lb isn't going to fill a spool.

Any idea how long this stuff is supposed to last with frequent use?

Is it better than Izor xxx 2# for casing jigs?

It will cast your jigs further than any other line of equal test.

Just use a leader to be safe :P

I have a 150yd spool of 8lb sitting at home, just haven't gotten myself motivated enough to remove the braid off my spotty set up
