Went up again with the wife, parents and 2 dogs and camped at McGee creek. If anyone is considering camping up there I recommend this campground. For 3 night it came out to $104 and the showers are free and very clean. Anyways back to the report. Made more stops than normal and got there late so we fished Rock Creek Lake for a few hours and caught nothing. Guy next to us caught 1 small dink.

On Sat morning my dad and myself woke up early and fished the Owens at Benton Crossing. This is quicky becoming my favorite place to fish in the Sierras. Non stop action and you can walk for days and find new spots. On the way up there we saw alot of cows. We caught and released 30+ fish and kept 9 in 2 hours of work. Dad used n/c and I used an olive wolly bugger with Drews black worm as a trailer.

After everyone woke up, ate and showered we went up to Convict Lake and fished the handicap pier for 4 fish including a 2lb Alpers. Fish were caught on garlic pb and Drews Appleseed worm. Winds picked up around 3 so we left and went back to camp.

The next day my dad and myself went to McGee creek and fished the pools leading toward Crowley. IM not sure what its called as i got directions for a local. The pool we fished was loaded with fish and I c&r 10 trout and my dad caught 4. These fish were nice stockers ranging from 12-16 inches.

Later that day we went up to Silver Lake in the kayak and caught nothing. Beautiful scenery but no fish. Enjoy the pics.

Which McGee campground? The one off the main road with the trailers?

Several of the worms that Drews has arent on the website. Those are the standard colors that are available. All of his worms are custom with scent and flake options. He also has a Pro Staff line now with bi-color and threaded vein options. Hit him up and he will take care of you. If not let me know.
