Never been and might go next week and was wondering what type of fish I might catch out there this time of year and is 25 lb test good enough?

Are you going on a party boat? The Persuit reported Assorted Rockfish, Bonito, Sheephead, Calicos and Halfmoons. 25lb is plenty. Id even drop down to 15 or 20 and have an even lighter set up for bass. Bonito on 10LB test is such a blast!
The rockfish theyre chasing is shallow water so you wont be using lead over 3 or 4oz

It's been a little slow lately, calicos(small ones)very few barries, alot of blue perch and assorted rockfish, you won't need more than perhaps 15-20lb test line, water really cooled but hopefully is coming back up,I'm giving you info from two friends who have been there in the last 4-7 days.
Hope your success is better, things can change daily.Someone got a few yellows from what I heard monday.

Yea a 12 or 15 lb rig for the bass bones etc... And a 25 or 30 lb rig for rockfish and bigger game like yellows and white sea bass if you encounter them

I think the key words in ur question is "next week". The island is unpredictable and can be boiling with yellows or WSBs. Pay attention to the reports a few days before u go...I take 15 & 20 normally but always keep my 30 stick ready.

For bass i have used flukes with 1/2 or 3/4oz. torpedo heads. Otherwise live bait.
